TEMPO
In simple terms, tempo is how fast or slow a piece of music is performed.
Tempo generally is measured as the number of beats per minute.

Beat is the basic measure of time in music.

RHYTHM
Rhythm can be thought of as the pattern of music in time.

Rhythm is the placement of sounds in time, in a regular and repeated pattern.
Rhythm Also involves using intervals or spaces between elements to give the user an impression of rhythm or movement.

PATTERN
Pattern is a combination of elements that are repeated.
ACCENT
An accent is an emphasis, stress, or stronger attack placed on a particular movement.
DURATION
The time during which the dance continues.

Conclusion
If you are a brand new beginner and find the dance challenging, music notwithstanding, you may choose to ignore this more advanced concepts and just do your dance no matter what the music is doing. You’ll still be on beat and the dance will work.

In today's class I understand the difference between beat and pattern. On the other hand after two weeks of practice I was able to do more standard warm-up movements.
