I.  Energy is about how the movement happens. Choices about energy include variations in movement flow and the use of force, tension, and weight. An arm gesture might be free flowing or easily stopped, and it may be powerful or gentle, tight or loose, heavy or light.

Movement that is smooth and even; it is the result of a steady equalized release of energy that excludes any perceptible accent, sharp initiation, or sudden cessation.

Compare and contrast the movement in video 1 and 2.

Create an eight movement phrase in which you combine the two energies: sharp sudden and Smooth Sustained

    Why is energy important in dance?
    First of all, dancers need a lot of energy to complete the performance and every movement, just like cars need gasoline.
    Second, In my opinion, energy is not only about the physical energy but also about the dancer's spirit.A dancer needs to be energetic if he wants to perform a perfect routine.

    Compare and contrast the movement in video 1 and 2.
    In the first video, the performer is more like a martial artist and his moves are more aggressive.
    The movements of the performers in the second video are more similar to the warm-up we learned in class.
    Although both performers are demonstrating Chinese kung fu, the second performer is more like a dancer
